Challenged to Change
Visualize life without challenges. Everything lines up perfectly. All is in your favor. Circumstances are ideal. You’re on a straight path to your potential.
Suddenly, you awaken from a dream. Reality slaps you in the face. Life isn’t perfect. It’s anything but perfect. In fact, everything seems to be against you. Still, you have a vision. It’s big, and you’re not willing to let it go.
Is time a factor? You just don’t have enough hours in the day. You barely have time to accomplish what you need to do, let alone do what you really want to do. The thought of adding anything extra to your schedule is overwhelming.
Do you have financial pressure? You can’t see your way out of a hole of debt. You have a dream. But just paying the bills is a challenge. The idea that you’ll ever get ahead seems unrealistic.
Did you get a bad report from the doctor? Health issues have taken a toll on your mind and body. You’re worn down both physically and emotionally. This makes it hard to think about much else.
No matter the situation, you’re stronger than your circumstances. The power given to a situation greatly affects what you choose to do with it. Every experience has value. You can allow it to stop you or you can use it to make a difference.
Take a moment to reflect on your life. When have you grown the most? Was it when everything went right or was it when things didn’t quite go as planned?
I’ve gone through quite a few challenges in my own life. At the time, I wanted them to go away. Thinking back, I wouldn’t take them back for anything. I experienced the most growth during the most challenging times in my life. They made me who I am today.
Trials in life may prompt you to take a step back and reevaluate your direction. You may need to take two steps forward and one step back or three steps forward and two steps back. Either way, you’re moving forward.
So, the next time you hit a bump in the road, ask yourself these questions.
1. What have I learned?
2. How have I grown?
3. How can I use it to make a difference?
At every crossroads, you have a choice. You can let frustration set in, or you can allow challenges to change you for the positive.
If you feel limited by your situation, this is your opportunity to turn things around. Change your perspective and your life will start to change.
Challenges are a part of life. If viewed properly, they can work in your favor. Otherwise, they’ll work against you.
Life will never be perfect. There will never come a time when circumstances are 100% ideal. You’ll face challenges and obstacles along the way. With the right mindset, you can make the best of even the most difficult of situations.
You can’t always change your circumstances, but you can change the way you look at them. If you’re going through hard times, challenge yourself to change.
Be honest with yourself and others about how you feel. Say to yourself, “I’m going through a difficult time right now, and I don’t like it. Rather than dwell on all that can go wrong, I’m going to focus on what I can do right. I’m going to use what I’ve learned to make a difference."
If you wait for perfect circumstances, you’ll shortchange yourself and others. You have a purpose. A prerequisite isn’t that you be perfect. The world isn’t waiting for a perfect version of you. It’s waiting for a genuine version of you.
You’re reading this post because something about my message resonates with you. You’re a motivated, driven person. You invest time and money to reach goals. But at times you’re hesitant to invest in yourself.
Perhaps you think you can do it alone. I respect your determination. Even so, a little push in the right direction can make a big difference. An investment in yourself will always reap positive returns.
If you’re challenged to change, let’s talk.
